Stepping onto the ball field

After dinner tonight, we headed to the park on the lakefront.  What a great time and how fun it was to push the stroller out in the middle of the field and let the triplets loose. It was only a matter of seconds that they all headed off in different directions, with different experiences.

As I watched them, I couldn't help remember my runs while I was pregnant and I would tell them as I passed here, that one day, they too, would run and play in the grass. And today, they did just that.

It wasn't long before they discovered the ball field.  When they got there, they seemed unsure if this was something they could step on or what to do.

Susannah,  took the lead and took the first steps onto the ball field. Looks a little nervous. Almost looks like she is tippy toeing.  Reagan however was still unsure what to do, with one foot on and one foot off.

And well Kathleen was trying to think if there was any other way to get on, while Reagan and Susannah have made their move.

But that all changed rather quickly, once Kathleen made it on she made a mad dash along with Susannah to the other side of the field, while Reagan opted out and stayed with me.

Tatay has some ice cream for us. Let's go get it Kathleen.
This is the best!

While Susannah is more interested in exploring.

Reagan had some of mine, but even that did not help with his apprehension about the whole experience of being out in such an open area. He would just stand still in one place.
Poor little Reagan. No rolling around for him. He only wants to stand and watch.

No babies, where did they all go?

Oh, here's one. Trying to explain to Reagan that in life we will have lots and lots of new things to experience. Some we will like. Others we will not. And some we just need to do again to really enjoy it. This will be one of them.
Maybe, one day you will play ball here. Would you like that Reagan?

The icecream is all gone, but Kathleen doesn't care. She loves holding things with a lid and yes putting anything in her mouth.

It's time to go home now, but hey how about a picture with Tatay and all of the kids? Nope. Not happening. Maybe when there three they will stand all together.
Oh well,  maybe next time Susannah you will want to join us.
Guess what they did when they got home. Got changed and went right to bed. Not a peep.

Now my turn.... Goodnight.
