Lincoln Square Outing

Lincoln Square. What a fabulous little neighborhood we visited yesterday.  Lincoln Square is one of 77 diverse neighborhoods filled with European feeling restaurants and little stores. Itwas like taking a trip right within the city, even though this neighborhood is only a couple of miles away.

Yesterday when my husband woke up, he said he was going to take the night off. After all he wasn't off for the Fourth of July holiday and we were off to go to buy the triplets shoes anyways, so rather than rushing, we decided to make a outing out of it.
This stroller has served us well, but when we take out the stroller seats, it will only accommodate two car seats. That is why you see little Susannah in the middle. This only lasted a short time, and then Susannah spent the rest of the evening walking, while holding my hand!

As one friend said, looks like Reagan is trying to figure out what Susannah is doing.
Once we made it to the shoe store, both Reagan and Kathleen were sound asleep. Alex had wanted to come back when they woke up to try on shoes, but I said they could try them on while asleep. So that is what we did. And they didn't even flinch.
These two employees found Susannah to be so adorable, that they both plopped down on the floor. She however is deciding on how she feels about these two ladies. Typical behavior for her with whoever she meets.

Everyone is awake now and Daddy is busy trying to put the shoes back on the shelves, as fast as they were taking them off.
The girls got cute little pink Mary Jane sandals, and Reagan got a pair of little boy brown sandals, and Jordan got a pair too.

Once we left the store we stopped at this little park, set right in the middle of Lincoln Square. The triplets had a wonderful time trying out their new shoes and the people sitting on these benches had a great time too watching them. In case you're wondering what Kathleen is doing in the stroller. She is busy fastening the buckles. The triplets are quite good at this. They do the same thing with their high chair straps.

On the run... both Jordan and little Susannah, each with their new shoes. She was racing around everywhere and he was keeping up with her.  Actually, I would almost call this a run.
I didn't get a chance to read the inscription on this lamp post, but my husband said that it said that it had been donated in 1869 by the people of Germany.

So if you live in Chicago or are visiting, an outing to Lincoln Square is a must! And if you enjoy frozen yogurt, make a stop at Yogurt Square located on Lincoln Avenue!
